I asked students to evaluate the class. I wanted to know what was strong about the class and what would they like to change. Here's what they said:
Even though I came in late in the year I think this is a really good class. It's very interesting. I like how this class is so together and I think you are a good teacher. ~Vatrina
I wasn't focused because I had too much personal stuff on my mind. Ms. Gabriel pulled me to the side and gave me a project that allowed me to talk about my problems and contribute to the class. I knew that she really cared about me then. ~Khatiti
I like that everyone gets along. I just wish we could watch more movies and do less work. ~Biniam
When I first got to school I didn't like to participate. I would just sit down and listen. Doing the presentation she assigned helped me. She made me fee comfortable. I spoke out more. Now I'm participating more in all my classes. Ms. Gabriel gives a lot of support and attention. She doesn't just give out the assignment and leave. She is a wonderful teacher. Also, I think the set up of the class is strong because most of the assignments are comfortable to do. ~Demonte
Almost everything about this class is good, especially how we all get along and how we can relate with eachother. I like our class the way it is. ~Esmeralda
I like everything. I like the things we learn. Of all the things, I think that everyone's presentations was the best part. The only thing I would change is for myself to have more work to do because I finish my work fast and I am left with nothing to do. ~Jason
I like that everybody enjoyed the class and learned a lot. ~Aoderi
The strongest parts of the class were: presenting, learning about Black people and Ms. Gabriel. I would like to watch more films about our Ethnic Culture. ~Haniya
Me, I would like to get more work done and do less talking. ~Michael
Our Ethnic Studies Class is very active. We have projects, speakers, we always participate in groups. I would like to not be so distracted by my classmates. ~Adriana
I like that we learn a lot about other cultures and ethnicities. I would like to have less presentations because I don't like it. ~Paolo
